The purpose of the project is to combat and prevent trafficking in Nigeria through a dual approach.
The overall goal is to reduce the number of Nigerian trafficked women, partly by providing local staff with tools for relevant, preventive information and partly by educating media interpreters who may be advocates of human trafficking.
In 2015/16, the target was to conduct preventive campaigns in 30 villages in 3 selected states locally. We showed the film EUROPE IN MY HEART and followed up with materials, information and discussion. The project offered training, skills and capacity building to 96 volunteers and local NGO leaders.
In addition, 3 conferences were held in the same 3 states where the state leader, its officials, politicians, government officials, NGO and church leaders, and media people participated.
